Leath announces goals, priorities during his installation
At his Sept. 14 installation, President Steven Leath announced a goal to raise $150 million in private gifts for student financial aid over the next five years. It was among several key priorities Leath outlined in his speech, "Educate. Innovate. Achieve!" On Sept. 14, Steven Leath was installed as Iowa State University's 15th president. The installation is a celebratory tradition that has marked presidential starts at Iowa State since 1869, when Adonijah Welch formally took the helm.
