President Wintersteen helps lead national discussion on public higher education
President Wintersteen was a featured panelist at the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities national meeting. She was joined by four other university presidents and chancellors from California, New Jersey, and Maryland for a discussion on how public universities can better serve their students, communities, and country. Nearly 1,600 public university leaders gathered in San Diego, California, Nov. 9-11, for the 2019 APLU Annual Meeting.

Iowa State University’s $3.4 billion impact on the state of Iowa reflects service to families, communities and businesses and benefits to society from an expanded economy and improved quality of life, according to an economic and investment analysis conducted for the Iowa Board of Regents.

In an Oct. 23 message to campus, President Wintersteen acknowledged that we still have much work to do to eliminate racism and bigotry and make Iowa State University the best land-grant university in the country in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Investing in Iowa State: FY21 State Appropriation Request
In a Sept. 19 presentation to the Board of Regents, President Wintersteen outlined Iowa State University's FY21 state appropriation request and highlighted the ways in which Iowa State is fulfilling its unique role as the state's only land-grant university.

President Wintersteen on Aug. 1 presented Iowa State University's FY20 budget to the Board of Regents, highlighting how the university's comprehensive mission of teaching, research, extension and outreach, economic development and entrepreneurship positively impacts the state and all Iowans.
